Juliu Horvath, Gyrotonic Creator
History
Gyrotonic exercise was originally developed by Juliu Horvath, a Romanian-born dancer, in the 1970s as a form of rehabilitation for injuries he sustained during his dance career. Utilizing his movement background and intuitive genius, he developed the Gyrotonic Expansion System to heal himself.
He founded White Cloud Studio in New York City to teach others his technique and also began training instructors to further awareness of Gyrotonic exercise. He also designed, developed and built the original Gyrotonic equipment to help improve understanding of the Gyrotonic principles.
Today
Juliu Horvath has spent the years since then continually developing the Gyrotonic Expansion System and the specialized Gyrotonic equipment, making both more accessible for everyone. He continues to train Master Trainers and personally certifies hundreds of teachers to accurately convey his technique to the world.
